During the past few years, Third Day Solutions has developed statewide student information systems to generate, store, assign, and locate unique Student Testing Numbers covering all public school students in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary and secondary public education. For one of these statewide systems, the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) was utilized as the primary ETL process. This solution is a web based system that allows for online processing and validation.
Third Day Solutions has developed the statewide Student Testing Number (STN) systems by:
- Conducting Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions to gather the requirements;
- Using proof-of-concepts in development of detailed design;
- Applying knowledge learned from developing the Mississippi Student Information System (MSIS) and similar systems;
- Prototyping the application before construction, training, implementation, and post implementation support;
- Studying and applying information from National Center for Education Statistics/National Forum on Education Statistics publications; and
- Mapping required data requirements using SIF 1.5R1 objects
